I'm back for another delayed post. I'll be sharing our short spontaneous trip to Los Angeles last spring. This time we decided to rent a car so we can have our time to ourselves and explore more of the city. On our previous trips we were always accompanied by my relatives. It was not bad at all but we thought it was an opportunity to really get out there and experience Los Angeles at least for the two of us. We flew, as always, and we were there for Memorial Weekend so the traffic was triple or probably worst (What is the worst day or holiday to be in Los Angeles?)
Reno, Nevada |
It was a such a snowy morning when we left Reno. The road condition was slushy and wet. I felt guilty because I was too confident that we could leave thirty minutes before our flight from Carson city. And I kid you not when we got to the check-in counter, the lady was like,
"I'm sorry you have to be here fourty-five minutes before your flight. May I ask what's the reason for being late?".
Of course I had to make up something so I replied to her,
"We're really sorry but there was an accident in Summit area because of snow. We had to make a detour."
And so, we were able to get on to the next flight for F R E E. Yes, my husband was so angry at me but all was well. I was forgiven.
FIRST DAY: Arriving in L.A.
Los Angeles, California |
View of L.A. from Griffith Observatory |
After lunch, we went to Griffith Observatory and spent most of our day before we head to Santa Clarita to visit my relatives. It was a fine day at the observatory not so much people and parking was not that bad. It was bearable and so was the traffic going to Santa Clarita.
